Gardening is peaceful and relaxing. Spending time in the garden helps me escape my worries and gives me the feeling of getting back to something basic and important. It also gives me much-needed exercise.

On this web site I'll share my gardening experiences with others by offering ideas, images, and information about my own garden in Northern Illinois. I might include pictures of my garden at different times of the year along with useful tips to help others develop a green thumb of their own. And I'll be sure to include links to my favorite gardening sites.

To liven up my home page, I'll include a few of my favorite photos and perhaps a gardening tip or two.

Thanks for visiting, and be sure to get in touch and let me know what you think!

Tip of the Day

Climbing vines can be a beautiful addition to your garden. But beware -- certain kinds of vines can become a nuisance if too vigorous for your climate. This can be true even with Moonflowers. I have to plant them where they will not attach to objects nearby. One year they kept attaching themselves to our bikes on the front porch. Check with your local nursery before you plant vining flowers, or do like I do and experiment! You can always do things differently the following season if you are working with annuals.
